It’s not that I am furious about being denied a half-operator status in #Chris. It’s more of a reason why.
I write for Chris Pirillo’s Lockergnome, have even done videos with the guy. I’m not blaming him or anyone. But here is what I don’t understand:
- If I was denied the priviledge of a half-op because of calling someone a troll, I ask you this: why is a certain op allowed to call people snowflakes? Name-calling is name-calling. But I respect the wishes of whoever is in charge.
- I do belittle, but I myself get belittled by some of the ops. Eye for an eye.
I have no desire to be an operator anymore. I will never apply again. I will still respect and work with Chris, and of course do what he wants me to do for as long as he’ll allow me to do it. But as far as that IRC chatroom goes, #chris, you will not see me.
And I know what you will be saying, <insert certain operator here>: “Good riddance.” That’s right. You won. I lost. I hope you are happy. :)
Comment if you wish. It doesn’t really matter. I have reaped a good portion of what I have sewed in terms of trust over the last two years. People make mistakes, and I am just another person who made one. Life goes on.
Nothing like a bunch of humans getting dramatic over some words on a screen in a box, eh? That’s IRC for ya!
P.S.: I never meant to expose anyone’s information. You know who you are, and I am deeply sorry. All pictures/links/tweets have been removed.

To be honest, I’m not surprised. They’re not too fond of adding new people to their veteran elite, so they find some random useless excuse to deny you.

Sorry Danny, though I do not claim to be an IRC Professional, I think you would make a good op. I got you op status in David’s chat – that can be the consolation prize :)
